2/10/2003 I've been goofing off again. It's been a few weeks since I really did anything on the house. But these past two days I worked quite dilligently. I had put the finished risers and treads on the lower flight of stairs a few weeks ago...but I still had to do the top flight. It took me all day monday to get them on. Then I spent all day Tuesday doing the trim along the edge of the treads. It looks pretty nice, but I have had quite enough for now. I've been pushing to get it done because I have to have the house appraised soon....and they wont appraise it if the stairs are unfinished and there is no handrail. I would much rather have been doing bonsai...but I guess I can't do that all the time. I managed to smash the end of one of my fingers pretty well while I was working on monday. It hurts a little when I type but not too bad.
Last Monday and Tuesday I went up to Marin county and dug up a bunch of trees from an old Japanese garden that was being removed. I am really excited about them because in a few years they have the potential to be really great bonsai. They had been planted there for at least thirty years, which makes them so much more interesting than your average nursery material.
Anyway, I don't feel to keen to keep typing with this bum finger so I'll leave it at that. Dory's in Chicago at the moment...I need her to come home and take care of my finger for me :-)
